Cybersprint challenges University students

by Cybersprint News Mar 12, 2019

Cybersprint takes part in the ‘Entrepreneurial Skills Course’. 30 master students visited the HSD campus on 7 March 2019, marking the start of a seven-week long programme. The goal is to give the students experience and a real business case in an IT organisation. Cybersprint is one of the 10 HSD partners that has set the students a challenge and will support them through the process of solving it.

As a collaboration between Technical University Delft, University Twente and The Hague Security Delta (HSD), 30 students started the programme that will provide them with insights into the challenges that organisations, start-ups and entrepreneurs in IT face.

During the kick-off event, the organisations pitched their assignment, after which the students were randomly linked to one of the 10 organisations in groups of three. The students had the opportunity to ask questions in a one-on-one setting with the start-up to define and prepare the tasks ahead. All students are enrolled in a Computer Science master’s, giving them broad background knowledge to tackle the challenge.

Cybersprint has asked the students to help research and create a European market analysis within the cyber security domain for the Digital Risk Protection services.

The programme will take seven weeks in total, ending with the students presenting their solutions to the organisations on 25 April. The HSD partners can benefit from the students’ insights and theoretical perspectives. It is a mutual learning process in which both sides will gain experience and insights. Not only do the students work on a real business challenge, they can also get a first-hand glimpse of the potential job opportunities in the field of cyber security.

We are looking forward to their outcomes and recommendations.
